Dr. El-Jawahri, of Massachusetts General Hospital, joins Blood Cancers Today to discuss exciting sessions from the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting in Chicago.
“This year’s [annual meeting] is very exciting for us, because there’s a lot of focus on symptom science and supportive care,” Dr. El-Jawahri said. “We are working across the illness continuum and in the supportive care space in terms of addressing sexual health concerns and other things we don’t talk about in cancer survivors. We have innovative strategies to address these issues.”
Dr. El-Jawahri also highlighted the plenary session, which focused on telehealth and palliative care.
“How do we deliver palliative care, disseminate palliative care, and scale palliative care differently than what we have done?” she asked.
