Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO) President Jennifer Brown, MD, PhD, of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School, discusses how the SOHO Annual Meeting has grown over the years, why she chose personalized medicine as the theme for this year’s meeting, and what she hopes attendees take away from the annual meeting.
“I picked the personalized medicine theme because … when I started in this field, we were getting the explosion of genomic information about different types of mutations that are specific to different disease categories, and I personally have been very motivated about trying to understand the different subtypes of diseases that I work on from the standpoint of potential therapy,” Dr. Brown said.
